SAY HER NAME: Breonna “Bre” Taylor
Life: June 5, 1993-March 13, 2020 (Age: 26)
Hometown: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Leaves behind: Mother, Tamika Palmer and boyfriend, Kenneth Walker
Location of Death: Louisville, Kentucky @ approx 12am
Murderers: Louisville Metro Police Department Officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison and Myles Cosgrov
A Bit About Bre:
At only 26 years old, Breonna’s mother, Tamika Palmer, says her daughter “had her head on straight, and she was a very decent person.” After attending the University of Kentucky, “Bre” became an essential worker and at the time of her death she was an EMT with The University of Louisville Health. “She had a whole plan on becoming a nurse and buying a house and then starting a family” says her mother.
On March 13th, shortly after midnight, the officer/detectives listed above rammed Breonna’s front door during a No Knock Raid and returned fire after her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, fired a shot thinking their home was being robbed. According to family and neighbors, the cops never announced who they were although their story is completely different. Breonna Taylor was killed in her own hallway after 8 bullets struck her body. No drugs were found in the home and the suspect they were looking for was already in police custody. What’s suspicious about this particular case is that it’s been months, yet the officer/detectives involved in the case have not been terminated and evidence that would turn this case into an investigation has not been released so everything is seemingly at a standstill. Not the people though. We are here and we will continue to SAY HER NAME as we fight for #JusticeForBreonnaTaylor. The family is asking for the killers to be charged with manslaughter and negligence along with other demands to investigate the LMPD.
We will continue to follow the story and provide updates as more details emerge. In the meantime, keep up the good fight and always remember... NO LIVES MATTER UNTIL BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!
